It'll Take A Miracle

Years ago when I was teaching I had a student who regularly attend summer school. It was something offered free to our students, and something that benefited those who diligently made an effort to come, and get ahead during the summer.

I had come to know this student and their family very well, and I knew the family was always making an effort to do whatever was necessary for their child to stay on top of their academics.

Well this particular year, going into the latter part of spring, when students would’ve already begun to have signed up, we were informed that there would not be any summer school for our students. There was no money. Myself, along with another individual, were visiting with this student and their family member about some things, and the subject of summer school came up. I went on to explain to them we would not be having summer school and here is why. So they discussed about going ahead and paying for summer school through another source, knowing that those places get pretty pricey, but it would be okay. Honestly, in my heart I was just thinking… I sure hate for them to have to do that, that is a lot of money, when we have always offered it to our families for free. They went on to ask, if we were sure that we would not have it, because they were going to immediately begin searching for a place. The other person setting in the room spoke up, laughing, and said, “It’ll take a miracle for us to have the money for summer school.”

I thought, “God just heard you say that!” I had seen at times when you doubted him, sometimes it seemed, just to show you he was GOD, he would change the impossible and make it happen. And that is what he did!!

By that afternoon when I got home, possibly the next afternoon, I received a text message from my principal saying, “Good news! We have the funds for summer school!” We are having it after all!!”

My heart leapt with joy! First of all, I knew God had just witnessed and heard that whole exchange with that family, and second, look what God had just done for my kid and their family!!

They didn’t have to foot a huge bill, and they were able to get what they needed that summer at no cost to them! Thank God!

Psalm 107:43
Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.
